Cairns Inner Circle Shooters Club

Cairns Inner Circle Shooters Club is situated at Cairns Shooters Supplies 205 Draper Street, Parramatta Park, Cairns. The range is an indoor range suited for pistols/handguns and is fitted with an air extraction system to help cycle the range with fresh air. The pistol range hosts 4 shooting bays with barrier divider walls between each shooter. Each of the 4 shooting bays has an electric return target system. This allows you to connect your new paper target to them, then while holding down the button you can send your target down the range to a custom distance of your choosing. The 4 shooting bays also each have a feature where you can send the target away in increments of 5 meters, this is popular with competitive shooters so you know what distance you are shooting.

The range is open for members from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. On Wednesdays, the range opens as normal at 10:00 am but it is open until 6:30 pm on this day. On Wednesdays, the Cairns Inner Circle club members meet for a competition shoot from 5:00 pm to 6:30: pm. The range offers year-round shooting where you can test your skill against other shooters or your own personal best scores all within a secure environment.

Unlicenced members are catered for with supervised times to shoot on Tuesdays between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm as well as Wednesdays at 4:00 pm, for the first three weeks of each month. Bookings are essential. This is a commitment made by the club to cater for new club members who are unlicenced (H category pistol licenses) and want to apply for their H license. A person wanting to apply for an H category license must first join a pistol club such as Cairns Inner Circle Shooters Club. At this point, they are unlicensed and must be a member for a minimum of 6 months in the club and shoot 3 times in that 6 months. Then they are eligible to move forward and apply with weapons licencing for the H Category licenses. Please read our (Steps to getting my Firearms License page) HERE.

This is why the Cairns Inner Circle Shooters Club dedicate these designated times to help new members meet their required shoots so they can go forth and meet all the legal requirements, as without clubs like us people would find it very hard to advance into category H pistol licenses.

New members are always welcomed at Cairns Inner Circle Shooters Club and the minimum age here in Queensland for new members for a firearms license is 11 years old. On joining the Cairns Inner Circle Club please feel free to talk to the other members and share your firearms experience level. You might have extensive firearms experience in hunting rifles and are only new to handguns/pistols, or it may be the first time you have ever had anything to do with firearms. Doing this enables other members to know your experience and if you are inexperienced in some areas then they can look out for you and provide advice where needed to help your technique.

The sport of pistol target shooting is a safe, fun and exciting sport that offers a range of disciplines for everyone from eleven years of age and older.

Queensland Weapons Legislation provides we operate as a shooting club and not a shooting gallery. We cater for people looking to join the club and become competent in handgun shooting matches.

To acquire and maintain a pistol licence in Queensland, you must be a current member of a pistol club. Your membership with Cairns Inner Circle Shooters Club allows you to hold a Category H Licence and acquire handguns for club use.
